Default Dakka Dakka!: Apologies and a Retraction

Dear HawaiiGamers.Net,

I talked with the Dakka mods, and now see that they had not intended to villainize Christianity, and were trying to lighten the mood with their levity. I apologize first to the Dakka mods, and to you, for breaking the rules and bringing a religious topic here in my crusade to 'enlighten' people. I am sorry I mislead you.

May peace reign, despite my terrible blunders!
Gerry

Honestly, people might have problems with you being on a "crusade" at all, especially to "enlighten" people who may not want to be enlightened.

That's why both real life religion and politics are generally kept off of boards completely unrelated to either - they tend to end up in fractured communities and flame wars.

Having known Gerry for longer than some of the board members have been drawing oxygen, I can assure you, he has never been on a "crusade" at all, especially to "enlighten" people...

He literally just wrote in this thread:

But I know he's not literally talking about a crusade. I meant more the use of the terminology of "crusade."

Ah the wonders of internet communication...I was addressing what appeared to be a snarky comment at a Gentleman I have known for close to thirty years, both socially & professionally, who is an incredibly nice fellow and a credit to our community. He most certainly has never pushed his beliefs on anyone, to my knowledge & is the kind of guy I have seen go out his way to help people, out of no other motivation than the goodness of his heart. Sorry if I came on a bit strong, but I was not going to stand by at what appeared to be a charged comment about someone I know very well, who was apologizing about a faux pas he made. (Something all too few have the intestinal fortitude & courtesy to do, IMHO)

Thank you Sekhmet, I do need a reminder from time to time

And thank you very much John Ravenwood, I don't deserve such praise, but it's great having such a good friend!

--- Be well all, and be blessed!

I still don't know what at all you were talking about, and I'm sure you don't want to tell me. Just glad we can keep stuff like this off the boards. Having arguments about this stuff on the tubes is bad enough, but the fact that most of us know each other IRL would make it a lot worse. Glad everyone here is acting respectful and dignified on the issue.
